UIHJ discovers Mexico

With a little help from our friends from the Union internationale du notariat latin
 
UIHJ convened with Mr Mariano Azuela Guitron, president of the Supreme court and of the Magistrate's Council. This high magistrate is equivalent to a minister of Justice. The meeting was arranged with the intervention of the Union internationale du notariat latin whose president is Mr Arias, a Mexican notary.

The Committee of international affairs was present during the meeting and was represented by two ministers: Mrs Olga Maria Sanchez Cordeo and Mr Guillermo Ortiz Mayagoitia.
 
An extraterrestrial profession
 
During the conversation, we explained to our guests the role of enforcement agents, the interest lying in the profession and his place amongst judges. Numerous questions were asked about this extraterrestrial profession !
Mrs Sanchez was impressed to hear about the amount of UIHJ member countries. A memorandum about UIHJ, in Spanish language, was left with the three ministers. This document also speaks about the liberal enforcement agent.
Mrs Sanchez, seemed very interested about the profession and wandered about the possibility of organising seminars for Mexican judges, which was adopted immediately.
 
Some possible co-operation agreements
 
Mr Azuela Guitron, reading through the memorandum, pointed out the fact that countries can sign protocols or co-operation agreements with UIHJ. He appeared very motivated by the possibility as the enforcement system in Mexico is totally different from most of the Germano-roman  ones. As for most of the Hispanic systems, enforcement is conducted by the Judge who usually delegates this duty to his staff.
Let's hope that this project will turn out into something soon.
The meeting with the Mexican representatives was very friendly and informal.
