Visit of the president of the Supreme Court of Croatia to France
On January 31, 2007, Mr.Branko Hrvatin, president of the Supreme Court of Croatia, met in Paris with the president of the national Chamber of judicial officers Paul Rochard, as well as the members of his board, and Jacques Isnard, president of the UIHJ.

Mr. Hravtin, on his way to the bicentenary of the French Code or commerce, wished to meet the representatives of the national Chamber of the judicial officers of justice of France. Croatia, within the framework of its future adhesion to the European Union, engaged in the reforms of its legal institutions, in particular the system of the enforcement of court decisions, which suffers in particular from an important backlog.
It is with all the honours due to his rank that the national Chamber of the judicial officers received the president of the Supreme Court. A team made up of five judicial officers, all specialised in training, amongst whom Mathieu Chardon, 1st secretary of the UIHJ, Anne Kérisit and Rose-Marie Bruno, members of the UIHJ, came to present the various aspects of the profession in France: organisation, status, activities, training, access to the profession, discipline and ethics,... The president of the Supreme Court, who obviously knew the question very well, expressed his interest for the model of French judicial officer and asked several questions about the training and the French national School of procedure.
Mr. Hravtin also visited the buildings of the national Chamber, from the amphitheatre on the ground floor to the 4th floor of the prestigious house of the judicial officers of the world, as President Paul Rochard likes to underline, when he welcomes the delegations of the UIHJ at the UIHJ permanent councils which are held in this Parisian building.
President Rochard indicated to Mr. Hrvatin that the French national Chamber was standing ready to meet a Croatian delegation in France.
The president of the UIHJ, Jacques Isnard, had also joined the meeting. He could evoke with the president of the Supreme Court various aspects of the next international conference organised by the UIHJ, the ministry of Justice of Croatia and the Faculty of Law of Zagreb, under the patronage of Mrs Anna Lovrin, Minister for justice of Croatia and Mr. François Saint-Paul, ambassador of France in Croatia. At the end of this very pleasant meeting, president Hrvatin invited his hosts to go to Zagreb.
Appointment is thus taken at the beginning of March for this international conference of comparative law whose impact, without precedent with 25 speakers coming from 12 countries, will be magnified by the wonderful framework of the Croatian capital.
