The “Balkans Enforcement Strengthening Project” (BESP) funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, implemented by the Center for International Legal Cooperation (CILC) and the UIHJ extends it’s support to thе Academy for judges and public prosecutors in North Macedonia.

Following the signing of the 2019 HCCH Judgments Convention by North Macedonia on 16th of May 2023, the legal system and judiciary in the country need to strengthen capacities, competencies, professionalism and expertise in the area of international legal assistance, recognition and enforcement of civil and commercial judgments.

Aiming to build up a core group of trainers from civil judges in North Macedonia and sustainable training program implementing unified, efficient and effective training methodology, a tailor made Train-the-Trainers (ToT) program was developed by the BESP project.

The first session of the program took place on 17th and 18th of February delivered by Jos Uitdehaag, first vice-president of UIHJ and BESP project Lead expert, Zlatislava Mihailova, BESP project Senior expert and Prof. Ilija Rumenov, HCCH National Champion for North Macedonia.
