An important agenda

It snowed most of the night and Warsaw wakes up covered with an ornament of ermine this 27 January. For the circumstance, the president of the NCJOP, Gabriel Pietrasik, the Vice President, Michal Redelbach, and the general-secretary are accompanied by the president of the UIHJ, Jacques Isnard.
On the agenda are the important questions which are on the mind of our Polish fellow-members and more particularly:
- the national competence of the judicial officers
- Substantial increase in the body of the judicial officers
- Monitoring of the discipline by the presidents of course
- Suppression of the “No Cure No pay” principle in the tariff as well as the system of contractual remunerations, and the discretionary capacity left to the judges as regards fixing the tariffs.
- The collective liability for the judicial officers
- Training...
. .As well as various other topics articulated around the effectiveness of the execution of the court decisions, the dialogue between the NCJOP and the ministry of justice, etc
The Vice-State Secretary was accompanied by six of his closest collaborators, the majority being in charge of following the parliamentary texts in the process of discussion relating to the modification of the statute of the judicial officers.
It is to be observed that this meeting was the first carried out between the authorities thus made up and the judicial officers. No doubt that was to justify the two hours of the meeting and the promising exchanges of views letting forecast for the future a broader dialogue between the judicial officers and their tutorship.

Europe in the middle of the discussions

Europe as well as the area of justice and security, and the common instruments were also in the middle of the discussions which emphasized on the need for providing for the harmonization of the occupation of judicial officer in the European area.
In addition, the place of the NCJOP was still to be largely evoked within the European Union.
In this respect, Vice-State Secretary was to affirm that the Polish judicial officers were to endeavour to play an active part within the UIHJ.
Lastly, the project to invite a delegation of the Ministry of justice in Paris, to the headquarters of the French national Chamber, in particular in order to study the functioning of the Guaranty system of the French judicial officers as well as the system of training was lengthily evoked with positive prospects in the short run.
It remains that the status of the Polish judicial officers, which is the subject of an examination at the Parliament, is likely to be amended and that the projected reforms are to worry President Pietrasik as well as our fellow-members. But to us, the content of the remarks of the high authorities seemed to leave some space for optimism for the future.
