The 60th Annual Conference Which Took Place at the UN Head Office From 7 to 9 September 2007 was Entitled: “Climate Change: How It Impacts Us All”

The limitation of the Planetary Global Warming To 2 Degrees Celsius Is a Peremptory Necessity!
During three days of this annual conference in New York more than 1,750 persons of the civil society for which 462 were representatives of divers NGO worldwide representing over 62 countries and where was animated two plenary sessions, 7 round tables and 32 workshops during which were examined the most recent scientific conclusions concerning the climatic changes, in particular their impact on the vulnerable populations, its consequences on ecosystems, land use, the natural resources and the politics of energy as well to only mention those.
Since many years here in America and mostly every week , the media talk about this important issue and probably also in several Member States of the UIHJ. The global warming of our planet is on all lips. With the last world report on the human development of the program of the United Nations (the UNDP) prevents that all must be done to limit this global warming of the earth to 2 o centigrade degrees, whereas the consequences of this change are already likely visible in many countries.  These unprecedent situation particularly will certainly cause increase as regards to the reduction of poverty, nutrition, health and education. The current level is now at 0,7 o centigrade degrees.
It is known that the Arctic is warming twice more quickly than the world average. With the ice thawing, the water reserves are threatened. For the populations living in arid areas, especially in Africa, the climatic changes threaten to exacerbate the turning into a desert, the dryness and the food insecurity with on top of that several areas which could see many waterfloods. According to the intergovernmental group of experts on the evolution of the climate, if nothing is done to decrease those gases on our planet, the temperature of the sphere could increase to 4,5o C (8,1o F) even more !

Time has come for decisive action on a global scale
Without wanting to appear alarmous, the experts present during those three days specified that these extreme temperatures, the intensification of the storms and those climatic strange modes will affect doubtlessly all the forms of life on our planet. Thus it concerns us all since this global warming of our planet will have serious consequences for our own economies and thus of our livelihood, our supplies of water, our products resulting from agriculture and obviously the geopolitics which is likely to create conflicts between the people. We can thus understand as of now that the contribution of all and each other is mandatory in order to help to solve this extremely serious situation that represents the planetary global warming.
In a message addressed at this conference by the UN new secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, he specified that:” we cannot go on this way for long.  We cannot continue with business as usual.  Time has come for decisive action on a global scale"
Lets mention that few weeks after this annual conference, the former Vice-president of the United States and new Nobel Prize of 2007, Al Gore, which devoted a part of his career to sound alarm on the dangers of the climatic changes, proposed in regard with this extreme urgency to all heads of States then present in New York: “ to meet every three months until a total treaty is concluded by all states and before 2010 at the latest ! “ has he says. We all know that after 2012 - will arrive on a long term period the engagement of the Kyoto Protocol  in order to achieve the goals sought by the scientists.  A file to follow in the future!
