Montenegro, 86th Member of the UIHJ
During the 22nd International Congress of Judicial Officers which was held from 3 to 5 June 2015 in Madrid (Spain), Montenegro became the 86th Member Country of the UIHJ
Montenegro is a Balkan country of about 660,000 inhabitants. It is independent since 3 June 2006. The UIHJ has worked to enable the creation in April 2014 in the National Chamber of Judicial Officers of Montenegro.
Currently 27 judicial officers are in office. They work independently on the model promoted by the UIHJ. The National Chamber of Judicial Officers of Montenegro consists of five members. Its current president is Vladimir Vujotic. Its headquarters are in Podgorica, Montenegro's capital.
The National Chamber of Judicial Officers of Montenegro has expressed its wish to join the ranks of the UIHJ by filing an application a few months ago.
It is at the 22nd International Congress of the UIHJ in Madrid that on 5 June 2015, Montenegro was voted unanimously member of the UIHJ.
The UIHJ congratulates its new member and is delighted to welcome our colleagues into the family of judicial officers in the world.
