Participate in the 3rd Africa Europe Meetings of Judicial Officers!
The UIHJ organizes jointly with the National Chamber of Judicial officers of Togo, under the aegis of the Ministry of Justice of Togo, the Third Africa-Europe Meetings of judicial officers at the Palace of Congresses of Lome (Togo) from 25 to 27 September 2013
The objective of these meetings is to build bridges between the African and European continents and to share ideas, experiences and best practices, in order to harmonize the profession of judicial officer and justice civil enforcement procedures globally.
These meetings are open to all judicial officers.
The first two meetings were held very successfully in Libreville (Gabon) in 2008 and Yaounde (Cameroon) in 2010 and were widely covered by all media.
The theme of the 3rd meeting is "The judicial officer, actor of legal governance" - 20 years Ohada: a model for African and European judicial officers.
Three sub-themes will be addressed:
- A Multi-Faced professional will distinguish, despite an apparent disparity, the profound unity that connects enforcement professionals in Africa and Europe through their specific aspects of training, activities, status
- A professional at the heart of the economic issues, which will highlight the need for legal certainty, the need for autonomous enforcement and finally the factors European harmonization through African (AU, Ohada, UEMOA) and European institutions (Eurepean Commission , Council of Europe) and the jurisprudence of the Joint Court of Arbitration and the European Court of Human Rights
- A professional at the heart of social issues, with an emphasis on alternative dispute resolution and the intervention of a judicial officer in family matters
These themes will generate work and presentations of large-scale scientific nature to be carried out by the various stakeholders, judicial officers, academics, legal professionals, and representatives of international organizations and institutions.
The 20th anniversary of the Ohada treaty there will also be celebrated there, on African soil.
