The Conference took place in Thessaloniki, in the premises of the Center for International and European Economic Law - Amphitheater «Dimitrios Eurygenis» and was attended largely by the legal community (lawyers, judges, bailiffs, University professors, law students, the Greek School of Judges). From the European Commission mr. J. Alegre Sevane was present.
From UIHJ several speakers took the floor: Charles van Heukelen (Belgium), Bernard Menut (France) and Jos Uitdehaag (the Nteherlands) and of course the co-organising Greek organisation of enforcement agents by its president mr. Euthimios Preketes.
The conference can be considered to be the final elaboration of a comparative study by the Thessaloniki Bar Association. The purpose of this comparative study (which has been financed by the European Commission) is to deliver a document to the uropean Commission which can be used for the evaluation of the two regulations.
The discussions mainly focused on the problems which arise from the regulations: the service of ducuments, the problems with the forms, the accuracy of the EU-website, the language-questions, the double date question and so.
The project also has opened its own website:
www.judicoop.gr. On this website all presentations will be published.
