Workshop for Vietnamese enforcement experts in December 2012
The UIHJ participated in Hanoi December 5, 2012 in a workshop co-organized by the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam and the Justice Partnership program funded by the Delegation of the European Union, Denmark and Sweden
In 2010 an EU funded project (co-funded by the Governments of Sweden and Denmark) was launched in Vietnam, the “Justice Partnership Programme”, a five-year (2010-15) legal and judicial reform programme supporting the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice ,the Supreme People's Procuracy (SPP), the Supreme People's Court (SPC) and the Vietnam Bar Federation (VBF).
Thus, on 5 December 2012, within this project, the UIHJ organised a workshop for the enforcement department of the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice. The UIHJ was represented by Jos Uitdehaag, 1st Secretary. The main topics of discussion were the European best practices and standards on enforcement, experiences with the self-employed enforcement agents (a pilot has been set up in Ho Chi Minh City) and implementation of these best practices and experiences in the Vietnamese enforcement system.
The authorities expressed their wish also in future to have close contacts with UIHJ.
