To open the ceremony, the faculty as a whole made its entry into the auditorium to the sound of a lively "Gaudemus". Then George Serban, Dean of the Faculty of Law, during the laudatio dedicated to the recipient, retraced the rich career of Natalie Fricero recalling her professional but also her human qualities that make her an exceptional human being, captivating and attentive, rigorous and friendly.
He honoured her by declaring that, by her sole activity of teaching and scientific research, Professor Natalie Fricero did "contribute to the elevation of the people to ensure the future development of society."
Wearing the full traditional blue and yellow gown of the university and visibly moved, Natalie Fricero began her speech as a recipient.
She first said it was the first time in her career she received this honour and recalled the close ties between French and Romanian lawyers. Then she thanked the University Senate and the Board of the Faculty of Law for the title that was granted to her, without forgetting our colleague Adrian Stoica, a judicial officer and lecturer at the Faculty of Law of Constanta.
She did not fail to recall that it was thanks to the Scientific Council of the UIHJ that this title was awarded. For the occasion, she warmly thanked Jacques Isnard, former president of the UIHJ and its current president, Leo Netten.
President Netten had the honour to write to Natalie Fricero a laudatio contained in the official title booklet.
Professor Fricero closed her remarks by quoting the Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu:
"Days pass, days come
You my wood of your passed youth
Come out youth, newer still"
