This project is led by the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) with various partners, including the Department of Justice and European Affairs of Saxony (Germany), Justice Cooperation Internationale (involving the National School of Court Clerks of France (ENG) and the National Chamber of Judicial Officers of France), the Centre of Legal Studies of Spain, the Scottish Courts Service, the National School of Judges and Prosecutors in Poland, in association with the European Union of Clerks.

The meeting was held at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels. The European Commission was represented by Emmanuelle Cretin-Magand, Amélie Leclercq and Heiko Wagner. The UIHJ was represented by its first secretary, Mathieu Chardon. EIPA was represented by Peter Goldschmidt and Kalliroi Grammenou. Céline Brébion represented JCI and the National Chamber of Judicial Officers of France. Edith Thévenet represented the National School of Court Clerks of France. The European Union of Clerks was represented by its president, Jean- Jacques Kuster. Lisa McCann represented the Scottish Courts Service.

The purpose of the meeting was primarily to exchange on the results of the European Conference held on 5 and 6 February 2014 in Dijon (France), in the premises of the French National School of Court Clerks and to which the UIHJ attended (see the article on our website: http://www.uihj.com/en/european-conference-at-the-french-national-school-of-court-clerks_2161635.html ) on the theme : "The future of legal training of the European Union and European cooperation for court staff". The meeting also aimed to prepare recommendations for the purpose of the pilot project coming to an end.

Each participant was able to largely contribute to the debate that developed on the results of the conference in Dijon, previous steering committees and the questionnaires sent to countries in framework of the project.

At the end of the meeting, Emmanuelle Cretin-Magand mentioned that the next step was the finalisation of the report, probably in April or May 2014 for publication. The organization of a workshop in the coming months was also discussed. This workshop should in particular enable training organizations to exchange widely. Draft recommendations are to be sent to stakeholders for an upcoming finalization.
